The King in a Cave

His kingdom has receded. It is now confined to a cave. The king sits upon his wooden throne followed by one faithful subject. The king remains atop his throne recalling his life, his deeds and his once glorious kingdom. His faithful follower sits nearby writing it all down. The king knows that the end is near and once he finishes talking he will arrive on the other side. But until that day comes, the king speaks about his existence and the loyal subject ensures it is all written down.

Inspired by a wooden finish in my bathroom that when light shone upon it, I could sort of see a king sitting down.
