Buddha (Poem)

Even in winter,

when snow blankets the ground,

when ice weights down the tree branches

and the world appears deceased,

Buddha still smiles.

Inspired by a Laughing Buddha ornament in the back yard who was covered in heavy snow last winter, yet was still smiling.

The Buddha’s smile is always one of contentment. If he is in the snow, he is at peace with snow. If he’s in the sun, he welcomes and bathes in the ray. It’s actually quite nice.

I was actually aiming for what you described so if it did that I am very happy with this. I have also realised that I refered to an ornament as “who”. I don’t think the Buddha has a Toy Story thing going on.
