Birds of flame spiral down from the sky near the Mulberry tree.
I watched a bridge of magpies span the depths of the Star River…
~~~
Immortals riding cranes on the edges of Heaven.
I watched dragons and whales rage in the abyss of the Yellow Sea.
~~~
The Sky Raft Wanderer skim the shoulder of Orion.
I watched ancient fires glitter in the darkness at the Dragon Gate.
~~~
River boats swallowed whole by river lords at the Yangtze Delta.
I watched dragon fire flare in the heavens over the Forbidden City.
~~~
Carp transform into dragons at the heights of Dragon Gate.
I watched teeth flash in the Yellow Sea stained crimson.
~~~
All these moments will be lost in time…like tears in rain. Time to die.
~~~
Attempts (all probably fails) at having ago at the best scene in movie history (yes I said that):
And a poem that inspired me:

I think you did a good job, a few lines in I felt that scene might have been your inspiration.
More Human than Human
Thank you for the comment.
I love that scene. It’s just so perfect in every conceivable way.
IThis is strangely hynotic. I like the way some images and phrases recur in slightly changed form.
Thank you for the comment.
I’ve been running multiple forms of things recently. It’s fun to see how many times I can do things.
You know my love of the movie. I’m with you my friend. And as a fellow Blade Runner lover let me just say, “I think you did it justice!!!!”
I had fun. But that’s about it. Could never remotely equal it.
Cause again it’s so damn perfect.
This is my husband’s favorite scene in one of his favorite movies. If the discussion turns to movies, he’ll always bring up this scene. I loved your poem before I ever knew about the connection, probably because it has captured the sentiment of that scene so well.
If I captured the sentiment of that scene, then that’s pretty great right there.
And it really is an amazing scene. I keep saying perfect when referencing it, but that’s what it is. Everything about it works.
Oh. Very clever prompt, with a lovely product 🙂
Thank you for the comment.
You know for something I thought was a write off, it’s not doing too badly. Which is nice.
nice…this reads indeed like film sequences…each one takes us to another scene and paints another picture….I watched ancient fires glitter in the darkness at the Dragon Gate…nice…
Thank you for the comment.
I just ran a few variations but it’s nice to see them work together.
Oh, I love this piece. Really great job, the scene was not lost at all. Thanks.
Thank you for the comment.
If I got the scene, then that’s pretty great. But I guess I’ll always have my doubts on that.
It’s just that damn good.
i want some of whatever you are having so if you die…please leave some behind…the images hit and stacato like a film reel…little glimpse but enough to explode on the edges of our imagination…
The magical world of Ancient Chinese myths.
I might build on this. But I don’t know. It’s got some room though.
Claudia is right…the passages play out like scenes.
Thank you for the comment.
In all honestly, I just tried as many versions as possible. Them working together is a very happy coincidence.
Best scene ever? Not sure there is such a thing but you nailed it indeed, can see the film within your words.
Thank you for the comment.
This may have been more successful that I thought. But I’ll always have my doubts.
Batty’s words are so…other worldly.
Wonderfully magical words..all inspirations work. Mine is from a Ricky Martin song..LOL! This was exquisite. Thank you.
Thank you for the comment.
Hey, take inspiration from where ever. It’s too beautiful a thing to ignore.
Now that was just cool. I liked the way you took the inspiration and made it something new and magical.
Thank you for the comment.
It was nice to play with the scene, and fun too. The original stands alone though.
Fantastic Blade Runner reference! What a fantastic idea! Beautiful words, too. 🙂
Thank you for the comment.
God save me I love Blade Runner. And this random idea turned out (somewhat) good, which is nice.
What great imagry and elegant flow of words here! I really wanted more…:)) An appetizer, b ut great write!
Thank you for the comment.
I could build on this. There’s certainly enough images to do so. I won’t say I’ll never return to this. It’ll linger.
creative and magical
Thank you for the comment.
I get it good sometimes.
